When Martin O’Neill met A Celtic State of Mind in Greenock!

Martin O’Neill joined A Celtic State of Mind recently for a live event like no other at Beacon Arts Centre in Greenock, and fans flocked to meet the former Celtic boss.

Martin joined Paul John Dykes on stage to discuss his incredible career, both as a player and manager, and the sold-out crowd were served up plenty of laughs, emotion and insight.

Having won two European Cup winners’ medals as part of Brian Clough’s legendary Nottingham Forest side, O’Neill went on to make a name for himself as a manager at Wycombe Wanderers and Leicester City.

His exploits at Filbert Street brought silverware and European football to Leicester, but his success was sure to attract interest and it was Celtic who managed to entice O’Neill away from a club he had led to three League Cup finals (winning two).

Starting off with a domestic treble in his first season, O’Neill went on to lead Celtic to the UEFA Cup final in 2003. The road to Seville was a memorable one for Celtic’s legions of fans, who travelled to Spain from across the globe. Despite losing the final 3-2 to José Mourinho’s Porto, O’Neill showed that Celtic could still compete at the top table.

On the night that Martin came back to town, Icon Photography was on-hand to capture some stunning images of the legendary ex-Celtic manager:
