Abada Uncertainty and Two Wingers Linked with Celtic

The January transfer window may have slammed shut a little under a month ago, but that hasn’t stopped rumours swirling around concerning Celtic.

There are plenty of questions surrounding the future of some of Celtic’s players, as well as two new wingers being linked with a potential move the the club.

Supporters have been left underwhelmed and frustrated by the club’s last two transfer windows, and Celtic are now sitting below Rangers in the cinch Premiership for the first time this season, and the poor transfer business has been one of the main factors that supporters have blamed this situation on.

Celtic will need a big transfer window in the summer, and here are some of the recent rumours as to who could be coming in, and who could be going out.

Abdellah Zoubir – RW – Qarabag
Celtic have been linked with Qarabag winger Abdellah Zoubir. At 32-years-old, The Frenchman doesn’t have that much of an upside, but he would bring an immediate quality into the club.

He has caught the eye of the club after grabbing 11 goals for the Azerbaijani side this season, including some impressive performances in the Europa League as he grabbed two goals and an assist against Braga.

With Celtic signing Kuhn in the summer, signing another winger doesn’t make the most sense, but if someone makes way then it could be a move the club looks to make.

Liel Abada
Liel Abada has had a complicated few months at Celtic, with the supporters unwavering support for Palestine seeing him come under immense pressure to leave the club from back home in Israel.

Abada would be keen on a move away to escape the pressure, whether it be a loan move or a permanent deal, and the door may have opened for a move the the United States, with Major League Soccer clubs in talks with Abada’s agent over a potential move.

Yuki Kobayashi
The Japanese centre-back has been expected to depart the club for some time, with interest being initially reported from back home in his native Japan for a loan move.

However, it was Finnish side HJK Helsinki who had recently presented an offer, with the 23-year-old even making the trip over to Finland to agree a deal with the club.

However, it has recently revealed that a move to Scandinavia has now broken down, with Kobayashi now having to look elsewhere to find some first-team football.

Anwar El Ghazi – RW – Free Agent
Dutch winger Anwar El Ghazi has offered to play for Celtic for free after the recent showing of support from the Green Brigade for the Palestinian cause.

El Ghazi saw his contract terminated by German club Mainz last year after social media posts surrounding the situation in the Middle East.

El Ghazi has previously turned out for Everton, Aston Villa and Ajax, but turning out in the Green and White would be unlikely, but FIFA rules prevent a move this season from happening for the free agent.

The rules state that a player cannot play for more than two clubs in one season, and El Ghazi has already featured for Mainz and Dutch side Vitesse this season.
