The Players Celtic Could Be Looking To Move On This Summer

Celtic have been clearing out the deadwood over the last few months, with players such as Albian Ajeti and Ismaila Soro getting cleared off the books when it looked like the club would never be able to find a suitor.

Recently in January we saw David Turnbull depart the club, with moves falling through for the likes of Yuki Kobayashi and Gustaf Lagerbielke late in the window.

Brendan Rodgers has previously stated when speaking to the media that the size of his squad at this current moment is definitely a problem, and the chances are that Celtic will be looking to address that by trimming the fat in the Summer transfer window.

With an exodus of player’s expected very soon, who are the players who are most likely to be leaving the club in this upcoming summer.

Gustaf Lagerbielke
The Swede has endured a strange period in Glasgow, with an injury crisis earlier in the season opening the door for a run of games in the starting eleven for the former Elfsborg man.

However, a red card at De Kuip against Feyenoord in the Champions League saw him bombed out of the squad with no plans to be used in future games.

With the manager clearly not fancying him, Lagerbielke looked elsewhere, but a move to Lecce in the latter stages of the January window fell through due to an injury to Cameron Carter-Vickers meaning the club needed options at the back.

Since that move fell through, he hasn’t featured once for the club, and this summer will likely see his short spell at Parkhead coming to an end.

Oh Hyeon-gyu
The South Korean forward was brought in to provide competition for Kyogo Furuhashi, and whilst he started brightly, minutes have been few and far between for Oh under Brendan Rodgers.

The former Leicester City boss opted to sign Adam Idah who has become the club’s starting striker over the last few weeks, and the club could move to make a permanent offer for the Irishman this summer.

This would only further limit Oh’s already scarce game time, and a move in the summer for Oh could be on the cards as Celtic will definitely be in the market for another striker.

Yuki Kobayashi
Yuki Kobayashi has cut a nervous figure in his rare appearances he has made for Celtic, and he hasn’t been anywhere near Brendan Rodgers plans since he replaced Ange Postecoglou last summer.

A move to Finland fell through and links to the MLS are still lingering, but the Japanese centre-back’s time at the club is definitely over in the summer and Celtic will be looking to move him on.

Odin Thiago Holm
Odin Thiago Holm signed in the summer from Valerenga, and whilst he has impressed in flashes, he doesn’t seem to have the physical profile required to really become successful at Parkhead.

There definitely is potential for Odin Holm to become a good player in the future, but he just isn’t getting the minutes to develop his game that needs at this current moment.

He is a player that is definitely worth keeping ahold of, but a loan move in the summer would be a wise bit of business from Celtic.
