THIS IS CELTIC’S DAY, ENJOY IT; THE REST IS ALL NOISE

As I write this, it’s about 3 hours until Celtic kick off their, hopefully, title-clinging match against Dundee United.

We stand on the brink of a 9th treble.

That is an incredible achievement, no matter how hard some will try to bring us down, to denigrate us and to generally belittle our team, our manager and our celebrations.

Celtic Will Always be Bigger Than the Pettiness, the Hatred and the Ignorance

Every trophy we win, is earned. Every title, every cup, every treble is an amazing achievement.

In the context of Celtic this is especially true, when you look at everything we have had to overcome socially, economically and historically to be in the position of absolute dominance of Scottish Football we are in today.

This has not been easy.

Anyone who, like me, started watching Celtic regularly in the early 90s could tell you that. I may not have any kids of my own, but I definitely fit the age demographic of a “Celtic Da”.

For people of that generation, no Celtic title win will ever be “tedious”. No trophy day celebration will ever feel like overkill.

Moments like this remind us of the inherent biases of our mainstream media. It’s obvious that most of them are not Celtic fans.

In fact, it's more than that. The seem to have an active distain, a resentment of us, our history, our culture, and most of all our success.

On days like today, they just can’t hide it.

And you know what? I say let them have a “good auld greet” if that’s how they cope with our status as Scotland’s most successful club ever.

It just shows how pathetic they all are.

Celtic will win the league because we are the best.

It’s that simple.

There is no trophy handed out for “best team since new year” (sorry Hibs). Nor is there a trophy for “but, but we beat youse twice in ultimately meaningless derbies” (not sorry, Rangers).

A league is won over an entire season.

We have won when it matters. Celtic are the best team in the country and there is no debate to be had.

We deserve to be here.

We don’t need the validation of our supposed rivals, their acolytes in the media, or their embittered fans in their crumbling stands.

Celtic are dominant in Scotland, and, slowly but surely, we are also regaining a foothold in Europe. This has been a great season, and there’s still more to come.
