CELTIC ONE GAME AWAY FROM THE TREBLE

Today was a good day. Celtic were utterly dominant at Hampden this afternoon.
It was a timely reminder of why we are and will continue to be the best team in Scotland by quite some distance.
A Daizen Maeda double, a sobering strike from Adam Idah (sorry couldn’t resist it), another fine shot from captain Callum McGregor and a great finish from Jota, on the end of an absolutely exquisite Alistair Johnston cross, earned Celtic a 5-0 victory over St. Johnstone.
Reo Hatate The Stand-Out as Celtic Shine
It was no more than Celtic deserved. From start to finish we controlled the game.
A special mention should go to Reo Hatate.
The Japanese midfielder has blown hot and cold at times this year, but he was absolutely untouchable today.
His 3 assists, coupled with a number of telling passes and playmaking from midfield made him an easy call for man of the match.

St Johnstone defended valiantly, but they couldn’t lay a glove on an absolutely imperious Celtic side.
In all honesty, the only surprise from this game was that it was only 5-0.
We have two games of consequence remaining this season.
A single point at Dundee United next weekend seals the title. Then there is the Scottish Cup final, where we will take on Aberdeen.
We can’t underestimate the Dons, but based on what I saw from their narrow win over Hearts in yesterday’s semi-final, I am confident Celtic will have what it takes on the day to get the job done.
Celtic should probably have had a penalty in the second half, which, it looked like James Forrest was ready to take.
However, if it means the veteran winger needs to wait for next weekend’s title party, or even better, the following week at Ibrox, to score for the 16th season in a row for Celtic, then I’m ok with that!
I was also really pleased to see Adam Idah get a goal today.
The media were gunning for him all week and his goal will, hopefully have silenced some of them.
My only regret is that Idah didn’t opt for some Ray Parlour style beer-guzzling celebrations after he scored.
It is Easter Sunday today, a time when those who follow the Christian faith celebrate a festival of resurrection, of renewal.
So, I guess its quite apt that Celtic chose today to put in their best domestic performance so far of 2025, and remind everyone why we are a cut above everyone else in this country.
Enjoy your evening everyone. This is a great time to be a Celtic supporter.
Next week, we will be Champions!
