Betfred League Cup Quarter Final
Celtic 5 (Bayo 15, Rogic 46, Ntcham 56 & 63, Sinclair 76)
Partick Thistle 0
A very professional performance from the Hoops as they progress into the semi-final of the Betfred Cup.
First-half was a case of trying to break down Thistle with Bayo looking dangerous in the air, before converting to give us a half-time lead.
The second-half had barely started when nice play from Ntcham and Bayo led to Rogic getting off the mark.
Two cracking goals including a contender for goal of the season from Olivier Ntcham put the game beyond doubt.
Scott Sinclair made his return to action, coming off the bench for Elyounoussi and received, what was at that point, the biggest roar of the night. That award actually went to the moment after, when Sinclair pounced on a rebound to make it a fantastic five and round off the scoring.
Lots of impressive performances tonight and the sponsor’s Man of the Match winner Jeremie Frimpong certainly impressed on his debut, however here’s how I scored it:
1️⃣ Ntcham – completely class performance, Rolls Royce of a midfielder;
2️⃣ Bayo – all-round impressive performance, took his goal well and set up two others.
3️⃣ Frimpong – extremely mature performance and one to look forward to seeing again this season.

Listen to the latest episode of the award-winning A Celtic State of MindAn increasingly fluent performance from a new-look Celtic XI saw the home side overcome the Jags with few alarms. Two sumptuous goals from Ntcham were the highlight of a splendid second-half performance, and substitute Sinclair’s strike towards the end delighted the Celtic support.

This professional performance will be remembered for two things…
The first was the performance of Oliver Ntcham and his two goals. His first was a 35-yard screamer which is already the favourite to win goal of the season. His second was a great run where he ate up almost half the pitch before curling the ball into the bottom corner via a nutmeg from 18 yards. The player on his day is 100% talent.
Secondly, how good was it to see Scott Sinclair, newly shorn and bulked up like a night club bouncer? The reaction to his appearance and goal showed how much we miss him. It also showed how much we respect all that he has done for us. That he is not being used as an option from the bench is a puzzle as he has so much to offer. Our squad is better with him in it.
