ACSOM: A CELTIC STATE OF MIND
A Celtic State of Mind (ACSOM) is a multi award-winning podcast and media platform focused on Celtic Football Club.

ACSOM has earned significant recognition since its inception in 2017, securing seven Football Content Awards (2018, 2021 x3, 2022, 2023, and 2024), including accolades for Best International Podcast and Best Charitable Campaign. This track record highlights the platform’s credibility and appeal within the football media landscape.

Founded and hosted by Paul John Dykes, an author and documentary-maker, the podcast explores not just match analysis but the broader culture of Celtic Football Club and its fanbase. It blends football discussion with insights into the club’s history, identity, and community, resonating deeply with Celtic fans across the world.

ACSOM stands out by integrating football chat with other subjects that appeal to fans’ wider interests, such as music, film, politics, comedy, literature, and the arts. This distinctive mix creates a cultural connection that goes beyond typical sports commentary.

The platform features exclusive interviews with notable figures from sports, music, film, and beyond who share a connection to Celtic. These conversations offer fresh perspectives and personal stories that enrich the listener experience.

With over 2,000 episodes and daily updates, ACSOM provides consistent, topical content tailored to Celtic fans. Its accessibility across platforms like Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and YouTube (where it has become the first unofficial Celtic-related channel to amass over 21 million views) ensures broad reach and interaction.

ACSOM’s commitment to social good adds a layer of purpose, fostering a sense of community and goodwill among our audience.
As of April 2025, we have raised over £113,000 for charitable causes, such as supporting the homeless, underprivileged children, those suffering from mental health issues, the birthplace of Celtic Football Club, and Wee Jamie Tierney.

In December 2022, ACSOM accomplished an extraordinary milestone by landing a spot in the official UK Top 100 music charts with our charity single ‘The Glory & The Dream.’ This remarkable achievement underscored the power of grassroots support and the unwavering passion of the Celtic fanbase, propelling a small, community-focused initiative into the national spotlight.

Competing against mainstream artists and major record labels, ACSOM’s success highlighted the potential of independent platforms to break through traditional barriers in the music industry. The song, a heartfelt tribute to the club’s legacy, resonated deeply with supporters, turning a labour of love into a chart-worthy hit - an inspiring testament to the influence and determination of a united community.

ACSOM’s diverse mix of international contributors has pioneered a unique space in football media by blending the authenticity of fan-driven content with the polish and reach of mainstream outlets like Sky Sports, BBC, and STV. ACSOM offers an alternative voice that resonates with Celtic fans, combining passionate, supporter-led insights with professional production values, earning credibility across both fan and mainstream spheres.

As the first Celtic platform to bridge this divide, ACSOM set a precedent by engaging with major broadcasters while maintaining its independent, fan-centric ethos. This trailblazing approach has since become normalized, with fan media now regularly interacting with mainstream channels, but ACSOM’s early efforts laid the groundwork for this shift, redefining how supporter voices are amplified in the broader media landscape.

ACSOM is more than a media platform, it’s a thriving global community where like-minded Hoops fans unite, share their passion, and amplify their voices. We’re growing stronger every day, and there’s a place here for everyone with A Celtic State of Mind.
